Hosting the Russian side Nizhny Novgorod in the ninth week match of Euroleague first round, Anadolu Efes was defeated 65-61. Anadolu Efes was trailing 35-32 at the halftime of the match, played at Abdi İpekçi Arena. Krstic and Perperoglou did not play in the game for Anadolu Efes due to their injuries. Anadolu Efes had already clinched a spot in the Top 16 last week with the win on road against Zalgiris.
Starting the match with Draper, Okben, Janning, Bjelica and Lasme, Anadolu Efes got its first field goal by Lasme. With Bjelica and Janning joining Lasme in scoring, Anadolu Efes was up 12-2 in the fifth minute. After the TV timeout, the opponent had a 12-0 scoring run and took the lead 14-12 after the ninth minute. Getting one three-pointer each by Furkan and Bjelica, Anadolu Efes was ahead 18-17 after the first 10 minutes. As we got our first field goal by Saric in the second quarter, the 12th minute passed by 20-20. After Cedi's single accurate free-throw, Lasme put Anadolu Efes up once more at 13.30: 23-22. With Lasme getting another single accurate free-throw, Okben tied the game at 16.30: 26-26. Getting six more points in the remaining time with Draper and Okben, Anadolu Efes went to the locker room trailing 35-32 at the halftime.
Starting the second half with McGrath and Bjelica's points, Anadolu Efes went ahead 37-35 in the 21st minute. With one accurate free throw each by Bjelica and Cedi, the team was up 39-38 in the 25th minute. Getting four points from Saric and two points by Deniz, Anadolu Efes was down 50-45 at the end of the the third quarter. Starting the final quarter with Lasme's single accurate free throw, Anadolu Efes was trailing 52-46 in the 32nd minute. After Janning's three-pointer, Furkan stole the ball and Lasme got a field goal in the paint, as Anadolu Efes was trailing 54-51 in the 34th minute. Behind 56-54 at the 35th minute after Furkan's three-pointer, Anadolu Efes took the lead 60-59 at the 38th minute. Getting one more point by Saric in the last two minutes, Anadolu Efes left the court defeated 65-61.
