Anadolu Efes signs Alen Omic...

Anadolu Efes has reached a deal with Alen Omic from the Spanish side Gran Canaria.

The Slovenian player stands at 216 cm tall, and plays at center.

Stepping into his professional basketball career at the Slovenian team Zlatorog Lasko in 2009, Omic spent three years there, and then headed to Union Olimpija in 2012. Playing for Brooklyn Nets at the NBA Summer League 2014 and for Denver Nuggets at the NBA Summer League 2015, the prolific player was signed by the Spanish side Gran Canaria in the beginning of the 2015-16 season. Omic also played for the Slovenian National Team at the 2014 World Cup and the 2015 European Championship.

Omic played 21 matches last season at Eurocup, and had 14 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 24:32 minutes per game. After his brilliant season at Eurocup 2015-16, Omic was selected to the All-Eurocup First Team.

He had 12 points, 6,8 rebounds and 1.14 assists in 24:48 minutes per game within 35 matches in the Spanish League.

Becoming Slovenian League Champions with Union Olimpija in the 2012-13 season, Alen Omic attained with his team the Slovenian Cup in 2013 and in 2014.

With Gran Canaria last season against Galatasaray at the Eurocup semifinals, Omic had 15 points and 6 rebounds in the first match, and 16 points and 7 rebounds in the second.

Anadolu Efes signed Alen Omic on a 2-year deal.
