Ataman: ”It's Not Easy To Play Without Two Important Parts Of Our Backcourt Rotation…”

Anadolu Efes' head coach Ergin Ataman, who lost 79-88 to Fenerbahçe Beko in the fifth week of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, shared his views after the game:

"Fenerbahçe Beko played good basketball today, they deserved the win. We got very little contribution from our reserve players, Fenerbahçe got good contributions from players like Guduric, Edwards, and Booker who were included in the game from the bench. Also, we had a very difficult time defending Guduric and Wilbekin in the first half. In the second half, Edwards came into the game from the bench. It's not easy for us to play without two important parts of our main backcourt rotation, Larkin and Beaubois. It's also not easy when we can't get a contribution from the substitutes. Today only Doğuş Balbay has been involved in the game from the bench and contributed to the defense. It's normal that we lost. Our opponent was better than us. Polonara played well last week, there may be ups and downs in the performance of the players from time to time. I don't think we will have problems in the power forward and center positions in the future. In our game plan, backcourt players are very important and reach the top in this way. We can't provide that at the moment. We're just left with Micic's creativity and Clyburn's one-on-one games. Clyburn wasn't very effective today either. That's why we can't build the game we want. I think our problem is more with our creative shorts."
