Ataman: “Moerman scored the last shot and we’ve won…”

Defeating Panathinaikos OPAP team 82-81 in the 22nd-week match of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman stated his thoughts post-game:

"We’ve missed our shots, especially within the second half. Adrien Moerman scored the last shot and we’ve won the match. Our team is unhappy other than our fans, I’m unhappy as well, Panathinaikos OPAP is unhappy that maybe they lost the match they deserved. Only our fans and Moerman is happy. We didn’t play good basketball, this is the only thing to say. Our plan wasn’t to use the last ball with Moerman but to push inside with Micic. Micic tried to finish with a shot until that moment of the match, but our plan was for Adrien Moerman to play man to man and him to penetrate inside. Him to pass to Tibor Pleiss who was on the corner if help to arrive. Tibor passed the ball but Tibor was pushed by Moerman’s player, then he thought well, and passed the ball to Moerman and we’ve won like that. Maybe more than 10 shots we tried were actually easier shots than that but we’ve missed. This one did and we’ve won.”
