Ataman: ”We want to be champions again..”

Anadolu Efes' head coach Ergin Ataman, who beat AX Armani Milan 75-70 and took his team to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four, shared his views after the game as follows:

"At the moment it is not easy to analyze the match. First of all, I would like to congratulate my friend Ettore Messina and his team AX Armani Exchange Milan. They played a great series. It is not easy to play in this atmosphere, to stay in the game for 40 minutes, in this struggle. We didn't have much of a chance to break the game as well. We had a 10-point lead a couple of times but somehow came back. Gigi Datome also played maybe her best game of the season. To be honest, we didn't expect her to play in this series, he had surgery two weeks ago. I congratulate him too, maybe he wasn't in good shape, but he played a great game. They gave us a lot of trouble, they always came back. We played well in the last two minutes like in the last game. Actually, all the matches in the series were decided in the last moments, both teams struggled a lot and we finished three games well. We made it to the Final Four once again, but for the last champion, it is more important to be champion in a row than to stay in the Final Four in a row. We have two games left..."
