Ataman: “We have seven more finale matches…”

Defeating Greece’s Olympiacos team 75-65 in the 23rd-week match of Turkish Airlines Euroleague game, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman shared his thoughts at the post-game press conference:

“I believe we played a very well defence throughout the match but the last 3-4 minutes of the first quarter. We performed a well press with our shorts and stopped Printezis well underneath. We gave our rival 18 rebounds in the Athens away game, and that was the key to the victory of that night. Tonight, we only gave our rival 9 offensive rebounds, we moved the ball well. We have had some issues on the three-pointer shots. We were below our percentage, we missed 16 three-pointers. We played very well on defence and rebounds. This is a very important victory for us. Also, we grabbed the point average with 10-point difference. We have seven matches left, so we have seven more finale matches.

By the way, I’ve heard that David Blatt is unwell. I hope that he gets well soon. He is a very good person, and one of the most important coaches. I respect him very much. I hope that it’s only the stress of the match. I hope that he gets well very soon.”
