Ataman: “We started off badly…”

Defeated by the Unics Kazan team 67-75 in the 18th-week match of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman stated his thoughts post-game:

"We started off badly. It was a shock for us for our rival to set the score table to 17-0 at the beginning of the match. We found a way to come back afterward, we can say that we played our own game but we had lots of turnovers. We must congratulate Unics Kazan’s defense, they pressured the ball well but some of our turnovers weren’t acceptable for the Euroleague level. Lacking our important players such as Micic and Simon for our offensive game caused Larkin to get tired. Beaubois caused Canaan to score 3 three-pointers in the final quarter. Unic Kazan deserved to win. We fought well even if we didn’t play well. Unics Kazan did a better job than us.”
