Dusan Ivkovic: “A critical result to keep us going...”

Defeating the Russian side Nizhny Novgorod 79-75 at the 11th week match of Euroleague Top 16 Group F, Anadolu Efes Coach Dusan Ivkovic commented on the post-game press conference:

“It was a crucial match in many aspects. It was critical to keep us going in Europe, it was critical for the team, and for being the match of the week. A few of our fans cheered for Krstic to be subbed in, but Krstic was not in a condition to play because of his injury. We included him in the bench due to his experience and positivity. We deserved to win the match today. This win was a huge opportunity for us to keep up the fight and advance through hard work. Today, the majority of the match was under our control. I don’t want to talk about technical parameters, but we did well offensively and defensively. We lost control only in the last four minutes of the game. We were ahead by 18 points with four minutes left, but we gave the control away through mistakes. I assume full responsibility for this. The margin was supposed to be kept. We will work on our mistakes on this part of the game. We have lots of injuries as is known, but we fought well despite that. We will now play against Olympiacos in the Euroleague. We have to prepare as good as we can for this game to be ready, and keep going for the playoffs...”
