Dusan Ivkovic: “Team play was the key to win...”

Defeating the Italian side EA Milano 86-78 at the 13th week match of Euroleague Top 16 Group F, Anadolu Efes Coach Dusan Ivkovic commented at the post-game press conference:

“We deserved to win the match today. However, winning was not easy at all. It was not easy to defeat EA Milano – a team that plays excellent basketball. They caused us a lot of trouble in the first half. This match was almost the only chance for both teams to advance to the next round. My players we under pressure due to that, and we couldn’t start the game as we desired. Following an 11-point lead by the opponent in the first quarter, we were ahead in all the remaining three quarters. Although we were trailing at the end of the first half, my players recovered at the start of the second half. We had good ball movement and the game was under our control. Krstic and Heurtel were very accurate from the field and they scored lots of points but we were exceptionally well in terms of team play. As a positive example, Draper did not score any points today but he was one of the key players in the win. He had five assists, two steals and zero turnovers. He was also very ambitious on defense. We will now play against Eskişehir on Monday in the Turkish Basketball League. We will prepare as good as we can for that game as well...”
