Ergin Ataman: “It was a solid win…”

Defeating Darüşşafaka Tekfen 82-68 in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague game, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman shared his thoughts at the post-game press conference:

“We started the game very aggressive. We prepared to play aggressively against Toney Douglas. Douglas is a player who can share the ball well. Darüşşafaka Tekfen’s organisation is mostly created around Douglas sharing the ball a lot on the pick and roll offence. Therefore we played aggressively towards him. We were very good on defensive rebounds, took the rebound and improved the tempo every minute of the game and played very aggressively on offense. We’ve held the control of the game in the first half. Darüşşafaka Tekfen used Oğuz Savaş and Michael Eric on the painted area. Though we’ve performed a very well defense underneath. We’ve held the control of the game via raising the point difference to 27-28 points in the second half and grabbed the advantage. All of our 12 players participated into scoring those wore the jersey today. Our three-pointer percentage was below seasonal average but it was a solid win.”
