In the 33rd week match of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, we hosted Germany's Alba Berlin team and won the game 87-77. We finished the first half of the match, played at Sinan Erdem Dome, 36-39 behind. After this result, we secured our spot in the play-offs in the Euroleague.
Our team started with Larkin, Elijah, Simon, Moerman, and Pleiss starting five, our first points came from Pleiss and it was passed with a score of 4-10 in the fourth minute. After Moerman's two accurate free throws, we entered the seventh minute with a score of 12-22 with three-pointers from Simon and Larkin. We got good shots with Simon and Dunston in the remaining part and finished the first 10 minutes of the game 16-24 behind. We started the second period with Larkin's three-pointer and made the score 19-24. Pleiss also contributed with four points, like Anderson who was included in the game in this episode, and the 15th minute was passed with a score of 27-34. In this episode, our team stepped up and tied the score in the 19th minute with consecutive points from Elijah, Moerman, and Larkin: 36-36. We couldn't find a way to score in the remaining time and we finished the first half of the game 36-39 behind.
We started the second half with Larkin's three-pointer and again tied the score: 39-39. Dunston turned Elijah's defensive rebound into a dunk and we took a 41-39 lead in the 21st minute. Our 43rd point came from Elijah, and we were ahead 46-45 in the 23rd minute with Moerman's three points. In the next minute, when the score was 46-52, coach Ergin Ataman took a time-out. On the return from the timeout, Moerman supported Larkin's lay-up with a three-pointer, and we got the score 54-52 at 26:30, and this time the visiting team's timeout came. With four points from Elijah after the timeout, we made the score 58-54 in the 28th minute. In the remaining two minutes, Larkin scored four more points and we were leading 62-57 in the last 10 minutes of the game. Our first points in the final period came from Dunston and Singleton while we were leading 66-60 in the 31st minute. We brought the score to 70-64 at 33:30 with the points we found in the fast break with Singleton and Elijah. After Elijah's layup, Larkin hit two three-pointers, making it 78-73 in the 37th minute. With Moerman's layup and Larkin's three-pointer, we made the score 83-75 in the last minute of the game. In the remaining part, we scored two more baskets with Simon and Dunston and we won the match 87-77.
