Ataman: ”We Got A Critical Win...”

Anadolu Efes, who hosted Pınar Karşıyaka in the 1st match of the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League Final series, won 82-78, and head coach Ergin Ataman shared his views after the game as follows:

"We got a critical win because we didn't play well. We played the game we wanted in the first half, we were in control, but in the second half, we missed empty shots against Pınar Karşıyaka's field defense. Karşıyaka stepped in, especially after Erick McCollum turned very difficult shots into points. He came to the point of taking it. Remembering to attack inside, we managed to break the match. On a day when we were not good, it is very important to win the home game in the final. We will look at the second match, we need to play better. The atmosphere should be better too. I was disappointed to see the hall like this today. I hope we play better in the second match, we are ahead 1-0. We were aiming to rotate in the second half of the match, but unfortunately, we could not complete the rotation after Furkan missed shots under the basket. As a result, we are playing in the final. Pınar Karşıyaka is different from time to time because they can play with 5 backcourt players. We had to play in a set-up. That's why we used players with high offensive power and high fundamentals."
