Ataman: “The series continues…”

Defeated by Fenerbahçe Beko 73-82 in the fourth playoff finale match of Tahincioğlu Basketball Super League game, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman stated his thoughts at the post-game press conference:

“We were already expecting Fenerbahçe to be aggressive from the beginning of the match and that’s what happened. They’ve gained a 12-point advantage from the beginning of the match. It’s easing to be 2-1 ahead for the team of course, even if it is a little. Fenerbahçe began well not to lose at home, but we came back very well. We participated especially towards the end of the first half. The second half of the match went similar to the first half, we’ve balanced the score in the best time actually, at the last 1 and a half minutes of the match but we’ve created the game around Larkin in that part. Larkin made his shot but couldn’t score. When Larkin couldn’t score the rival, the team scored, and they were more successful at the end of the game and won. It is necessary to congratulate both teams and players, and it was an amazing fight even though we played every other day. I believe that this is a finale of good quality in the entire Europe Leagues and very high level, and it will continue to be like this. The series continues 2-2.”

Our player Vasilije Micić also shared his thoughts at the press conference: “Tonight, Fenerbahçe wanted to win a little more than us. We’ve responded well to their offense and moves. Though we’ve missed some of the shots at the end of the match. One of the problems that we’ve faced tonight was the fouls, 3 of our players including me had foul problems, 2 of our players were foul-outed, but we don’t have time for excuses, we have to be ready for the next game.”
