Ataman: “We couldn’t find our rhythm yet…”

Defeating Pınar Karşıyaka team 78-77 in the 3rd-week match of the ING Basketball Super League, Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman stated his thoughts post-game:

“It was an enthusiastic match for the audience. Pınar Karşıyaka is a live team. They play good and tough basketball. We cannot play the flowing basketball as we want. Larkin has an injury in his knee, we had to make him play in the absence of Simon. He couldn’t play as much but he scored in the most critical moment at the end of the match. The weight was on Micic and Beaubois unfortunately. They were tired. Buğrahan is injured as well. We couldn’t find our rhythm yet, and we are upset of course. We played with a great effort against CSKA Moscow Friday night. This is the way it is. We are traveling to Lyon tomorrow and will play against LDLC Asvel Villeurbanne' on Tuesday. Then we will travel to Milano to play against AX Armani Exchange Milan. We will play against Fenerbahçe Beko on Monday. It is a tough program, we have injured players but I believe we will find the tempo while moving forward with the program. We defended well tonight. Smalls couldn’t flow, so our strategy was to play underneath. Pınar Karşıyaka made it tough for us to play with four smalls in the first quarter. We had the chance at the final ball. Both teams showed an amazing fight, it was a fantastic league match.”
