We were guests of Darüşşafaka in the 24th-week match of the ING Basketball Super League and we were defeated 81-85. We were ahead 48-46 in the first half of the match which had taken place at Ayhan Şahenk Sports Hall.
While our team went into the game with Micic, Buğrahan, Elijah, Moerman, and Pleiss starting five, we were ahead 5-0 in the first minute with the points of Buğrahan and Pleiss. With the hits from Elijah and Buğrahan, we made the score 13-7 in the fourth minute. While Buğrahan scored two more three-pointers in this section, Pleiss also contributed to the score, and we were ahead 25-16 in the ninth minute. After Moerman's three-point field goal in the last minute, we were ahead 28-22 in the first 10 minutes of the game. We couldn't score in the first two minutes of the second quarter and we were behind 28-29 in the 12th minute. Our team, which took the lead again with Egemen's under-the-rim shots, entered in the 15th minute with a score of 35-35 with a five-point contribution from Larkin, who entered the game in this section. After Micic's two accurate free throws, Yiğitcan scored 10 points and we were leading 47-44 in the 19th minute. In the remaining time, we scored another point with Micic from the foul line and we finished the first half of the game ahead 48-46.
We started the second half with Larkin and Buğrahan's points and brought the score to 53-51 in the 23rd minute. After falling behind 53-54 in the 24th minute, we got another basket with Buğrahan and we took the lead again in the 25th minute: 55-54. In the second five-minute part of the quarter, we had four hits with Buğrahan on the foul line and we were behind the last period of the match by 59-65. We started the last period with Beaubois' three-pointer and we were behind 62-69 in the 31st minute. We entered the 35th minute behind 66-75 with Elijah's four points. After Buğrahan's three-pointer, Beaubois' layup brought the score to 71-77 in the 36th minute. With two three-pointers from Beaubois, the gap was only two points in the final 1:30 minute of the match: 77-79. With Larkin's three-pointer, we made the score 80-81 in the last nine seconds of the game. Our team, which was behind 80-83 in the last 4.9 seconds, brought the score to 81-83 in the last 4.2 seconds with Beaubois's single hit on the foul line. We couldn't find a score in the remaining time and we were defeated 81-85.
