One of the main objectives of Anadolu Efes Sports Club, one of the milestones of Turkish Basketball, is to take Turkish sports forward, to represent our country successfully in European arenas and to endear our basketball to all young people.

Anadolu Efes Sports Club was founded in 1976 under the name Efes Pilsen Sports Club through the acquisition of Kadıköy Sports.
Under the presidency of Tuncay Özilhan, with Pano Natof as General Captain, Berna Sirmen as Club Manager, Talat Öztoprak as Executive, and Faruk Akagün as coach, the club began its operations with the aim of contributing to the development of national sports through its administrative and technical staff.
The main objective of our club is to advance Turkish sports and to successfully represent our country in Europe, promoting basketball to all young people.
In May 2011, the name Efes Pilsen Sports Club was changed in accordance with the TAPDK regulation dated January 7, 2011. Since that date, the club has continued under the name Anadolu Efes Sports Club.

The milestones Anadolu Efes Sports Club has achieved in Turkish basketball are as follows:
- The first Turkish Club to win a European throphy at team level (1996 FIBA Korać Cup)
- The first Turkish team to reach the Final Four in Europe’s top-level club basketball competition. Anadolu Efes placed third in the Final Four tournaments of the 1999–2000 and 2000–2001 seasons, and was runner-up in the 2018–2019 EuroLeague Final Four.
- The first Turkish club to host a Final Four in Europe’s top basketball competition (1992 FIBA European League Final Four)
- The first Turkish club to host a final match in a European competition (1994–1995 FIBA European Cup Final)
- The first Turkish club to send a Turkish player to the NBA (Mirsad Türkcan – New York Knicks)
- The first Turkish club to play matches against NBA teams in the United States (October 10, 2006 vs. Denver Nuggets and October 12, 2006 vs. Golden State Warriors)
- The first club to play an NBA team in Turkey (October 6, 2007 – Minnesota Timberwolves)
- The first basketball club in Turkish history to play over 500 matches in European competition and over 400 matches in the EuroLeague
- The only Turkish team with 2 EuroLeague championships
- The first and only Turkish team chosen as Europe's Best Marketing Team by the EuroLeague (in 2010, 2013, 2017, 2020, and 2022)
- The only team to win the EuroLeague's One Team gold award two years in a row in their social responsibility program (2019 and 2020)
