We suffered an 89-66 defeat away to Olympiacos in Round 4 of the EuroLeague.
Our head coach Pablo Laso's thoughts on the match:
First of all, I would like to congratulate Olympiacos on the win. We knew it was going to be a very difficult game for us. It was our first game without one of our most important players, who is out with a long-term injury, and we knew that playing against Olympiacos was probably not the ideal scenario. Despite that, I think we did a lot of good things.
However, if you commit 17 turnovers and allow the opponent 21 offensive rebounds, you give them far too many extra possessions. That was the biggest difference in tonight's game. If we want to be a team that competes every night, we have to be aware of this. If we are not able to fight for those statistics, it does not matter whether our shots fall or not.
Olympiacos was certainly hot in the second half and made difficult shots. But for us, those two statistics are a very important part of the game, and we were not good enough in those areas tonight. That is why Olympiacos controlled most of the game.
Our team will face Yukatel Denizli Basket at the Turkcell Basketball Development Center on Sunday, October 11, at 15:30
