Hosting Telekom in the third match of the Turkish Basketball League play-off quarter finals, Anadolu Efes left the court victorious 93-75. Anadolu Efes was ahead 53-36 at the halftime of the match, played at Abdi İpekçi Arena.
With this result, Anadolu Efes is ahead 2-1 in the series, reaching the semi finals. Efes will play against Trabzonspor in the semi final series.
Starting the match with Doğuş, Janning, Perperoglou, Saric and Lasme, Anadolu Efes was ahead 12-5 after the first four minutes with Lasme and Perperoglou’s points. When Saric’s three pointer increased the lead to 10 at 4.30, the opponent called a timeout: 15-5. After Saric hit two accurate free throws to make it 17-7, Efes continued to score in the remaining duration with Birkan, Krstic, Heurtel and Cedi, leading 29-17 at the end of the first 10 minutes of the game. Starting the second quarter with four points by Birkan, Efes increased the lead to 16 points in the 11th minute: 33-17. With Cedi’s three pointer and Janning’s field goal, Efes was ahead 38-21 after the 13th minute. After Saric scored our 40th point, the opponent got five points to make it 40-26 in the 14th minute as Ivkovic called a timeout. Lasme’s slam dunk and Cedi’s points following the timeout helped Efes stay up 45-26 in the 15th minute. Keeping the pace up, Efes increased the margin to 21 points with Janning: 47-26. Cedi and Birkan’s points in the final minutes of the half helped Anadolu Efes towards a halftime score of 53-36.
Opening the score sheet with a fantastic layup in the second half, Doğuş made it 55-41 at 21.30. After Perperoglou’s single accurate free throw, Efes got points by Doğuş and Janning, leading 60-42 while heading into the 24th minute. With Saric and Krstic’s points in the paint complemented by Cedi from the outside, Efes was ahead 70-50 with 2.20 left to play in the quarter. Hitting his second three pointer of the season within the final moments of the quarter, Lasme set the score: 73-57. Starting the final quarter with Lasme’s spectacular slam dunk, ahead 75-57, Efes had a three pointer by Birkan, leading 78-60 in the 32nd minute. Leading 82-65 while heading into the final five minutes of the match with Saric and Janning’s points, Anadolu Efes maintained the lead until the end of the match and with Krstic, Deniz and Doğuş’s points to seal the game, left the court victorious 93-75.
