Ataman: ”We knew it would be a tough match...”

Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman, who defeated Ayos Konyaspor Basketball in the 7th week of the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League, with a score of 88-83, shared his views after the game:

"We knew that it would be a tough match today. We knew that Ayos Konyaspor Basketball was one of the surprise teams in the league and especially their offensive power was high. They chose their foreign players well, we need to congratulate both the technical staff and the administrative staff. They play very well, they put up resistance, and their attacking strength is extremely high. After a tough match against Barcelona in the Euroleague, we played this match less than 48 hours ago. We had to play this match today before the double match week. I am very pleased with the struggle of my foreign players, especially, it was good for us to play this kind of match. Unfortunately, we can't get contributions from our local players. We will not take our players who will not be able to play in the Euroleague to Italy, they will stay in Istanbul and train intensely. We need them to improve their performance. We cannot take the two leagues together with the same five players. We will rest tomorrow and go to Milan. We will play two very important matches against Bologna and Milan in Italy.”
