Our team, which will take the court for its 920th game on the European stage, has recorded 509 wins and 410 losses in the 919 games it has played in European competitions to date.
Anadolu Efes, which will play its 672nd game in the EuroLeague, in which it has competed since the 2001-02 season, has recorded 352 wins and 319 losses in the 671 games it has played in this competition to date.
Anadolu Efes and Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv have met four times in European competitions to date, with our team recording two wins and two losses. In the two games played between the two teams in FIBA competitions, our team won both, while we came away with a loss in both of the two games the teams played in the EuroLeague.
After beating Beşiktaş 89-80 at home in Week 7 of the EuroLeague, our team will begin the double-game week with the Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv game, and will then face Panathinaikos Aktor on Friday, October 30, at the Turkcell Basketball Development Center. Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv, for their part, beat Virtus Bologna 90-81 at home in Week 7 of the EuroLeague.
Our Head Coach Pablo Laso’s comments on the game:
Playing against Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv is one of the toughest games you can have. The reason is simple, they have very talented players at every position. They have big names like Vasilije Micic, Elijah Bryant, Dan Oturu, Zach LeDay and Tomas Satoransky, who are individually among the best in Europe, and a few of them are former Anadolu Efes players who are performing at a great level.
In the end, they’ve built a team that is very difficult to stop, because just when you think you’ve got one of them under control, somebody else steps up. That says a lot about the quality of the team. They also have Antonio Blakeney, an important scoring threat off the bench. They are physical inside and they play with great rhythm.
For us, playing on the road is a big challenge. We have to stay together from the first minute, play our basketball, give our best and try to control the pace of the game. That’s not easy, especially in a double-game week, when it’s so important to stay focused every single minute.
Our player Ercan Osmani's comment about game:
After our two EuroLeague wins, we are starting a tough double-game week. Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv is a team with outstanding players and a deep rotation. To build on our winning streak, we must be at our best and never lose our concentration at any point in the game.
