No chance for Galatasaray against Anadolu Efes: 86-78

Preparing for the new season, Anadolu Efes defeated Galatasaray 86-78 at the third and last match in Tübad Banvit Tournament. Anadolu Efes was ahead 46-29 at the halftime of the match, played at Abdi İpekçi Arena.

Along with Emircan Koşut and Oğulcan Baykan; Doğuş Balbay and Nenad Krstic who are out due to injuries did not play in the match for Efes.

Starting the match with Granger, Diebler, Birkan, Brown and Tyus, Anadolu Efes got its first field goal by Tyus. Ahead 7-4 with Brown and Granger’s points, Anadolu Efes continued to score under the paint with Tyus and Brown, as the seventh minute was through 17-9 in favor of Efes. Getting one more field goal by Heurtel in the final minute of the first quarter, Anadolu Efes finished the first 10 minutes ahead 19-16. Starting the second quarter with Dunston’s layup, Efes was leading 24-18 in the 13th minute after Diebler’s three-pointer. With Dunston and Saric’s points followed by three-pointers from Diebler and Heurtel, Efes increased the lead to nine points in the 15th minute: 34-25. Increasing the lead to double digits for the first time in the 17th minute with Furkan’s perimeter shot, Anadolu Efes got scoring by Heurtel, Ahmet and Brown in the final three minutes of the half, and was leading 46-29 at the halftime.

Opening the score sheet in the second half with a three pointer in our first possession, Birkan increased the lead to 20 points: 49-29. The opponent had a sizeable scoring run after the field goal, and at 23.30, they cut the lead down to 10 points: 49-39. As Diebler’s three pointer made it 52-39 in the 24th minute, Dunston’s layup helped Efes retain the lead 54-41 through the 25th minute. Ahead 59-45 with 2.30 to play in the quarter with Cedi’s five points, Efes got scoring by Heurtel, Dunston and Diebler, and was leading 66-55 at the end of the third quarter. As Diebler and Furkan scored our first points in the final quarter, Efes was ahead 70-58 at 31.30. Leading 73-60 with Granger’s three pointer, Efes got scoring by Dunston and Brown, ahead 77-69 in the 35th minute. Ahead 82-72 in the last three minutes of the match with Granger and Tyus’s points, Anadolu Efes got a few more points by Brown, and left the court victorious 86-78.
