Shane the Magnificent!

Scoring 49 points against Bayern Munich in the 11th-week match of Turkish Airlines Euroleague, Shane Larkin broke the record for the most points of Euroleague history. While scoring 49 points, he also equalized the most-scored-three-pointers in one match record with scoring 10 three-pointers as well.

The most points record of Euroleague was shared by Alphonso Ford, Carlton Myers, Kaspars Kambala, and Bobby Brown with 41 points before Shane Larkin.

Shane Larkin said, “I don’t know what to say right now. The hoop looked enormous after my first two shots. I’m grateful for this moment. I am thankful for my teammates. We are working hard in the practices every day. I will become better and better as long as I am healthy. My teammates are pushing me on the practices for me to be better.”  

After finishing the first quarter with 14 points, Shane Larkin head into the changing rooms with 25 points at the end of the first half. While scoring 11 points, he reached 36 points in total at the end of the third quarter. The record-breaking layup was scored at the last 2:13 minutes of the match. While he reached 43 points, he scored two more three-pointers within the remaining duration, and he finished the match with 5/7 2 points, 10/12 three-pointers, and 9/10 free-throws. Also, Larkin included 5 assists, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal into his statistics. While scoring to 53 PIR, he reached to the 5th all-time high Performance Index Rating.
