Player Career
Poirier, who developed through the youth ranks of Paris Levallois in France, moved up to the first team in the 2013-14 season. In the 2015-16 season, the French player transferred to Hyeres-Toulon, and after one season, he returned to Paris Levallois. In the 2017-18 season, Poirier took his first international experience by joining Spain's Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz, where he played for two years before transferring to the NBA's Boston Celtics at the beginning of the 2019-20 season. That same season, he also played for the Maine Red Claws in the G-League. In December 2020, Poirier moved to the Philadelphia 76ers. In April 2021, he returned to Europe, transferring to Spain's Real Madrid, where he played until the end of the 2023-24 season. Poirier joined our team before the start of the 2024-25 season.
The French player's first professional trophies were the French Cup and the French Super Cup, which he won with Paris Levallois in 2013. With Real Madrid, Poirier won the Spanish League championship in the 2021-22 and 2023-24 seasons, the Spanish Cup in 2024, and the Spanish Super Cup in 2021, 2022, and 2023. The experienced player also won the EuroLeague championship with Real Madrid in the 2022-23 season.
In the 2018-19 season, Poirier led EuroLeague in rebounds with an average of 8.1 rebounds per game while playing for Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz, and at the end of that season, he earned a spot on the EuroLeague’s All-Second Team.
Poirier has also been a member of the French National Team, winning a bronze medal at the 2019 World Cup, a silver medal at the 2021 Olympic Games, and a silver medal at the 2022 European Championship.
At the start of the 2024-25 season, Poirier celebrated his first official match with Anadolu Efes by winning the Presidential Cup.
