10: The Greatest of All!

Playing against Fenerbahçe on the final match of Royal Halı Turkish Cup, Anadolu Efes won the game 70-60 and won the Turkish Cup for the 10th time. Anadolu Efes was ahead 37-32 at the halftime of the match, played at Gaziantep Karataş Şahinbey Sports Hall.

Starting the match with Doğuş, Janning, Cedi, Saric and Krstic, Anadolu Efes got its first points by Cedi and Saric. With both players getting three points each from and-one positions, Efes was trailing 7-6 heading into the fourth minute. Trailing 9-8 at the TV timeout after Doğuş’s layup, Anadolu Efes scored with Lasme, Perperoglou and Heurtel, claiming the lead for the first time in the match while entering the last minute of the quarter: 15-13. Following two points from the opponent in the remaining duration, the score for the first 10 minutes was 15-15.

Starting the second quarter with Lasme’s slam dunk, Efes got successive points with Krstic, making it 23-19 at 15.30. With Janning’s layup followed by Krstic’s accurate free throw, Efes was leading by seven with 3.30 left to play in the half: 26-19. After the opponent’s timeout, Anadolu Efes scored with Saric and Heurtel to extend the lead to nine points with 2.30 left. Scoring with Krstic, Janning, Cedi and Birkan in the remaining duration, Efes was leading 37-32 at the halftime.

Opening the score sheet in the second half with a three pointer, Saric made it 40-32 in the 22nd minute. After scoring its 41st point with Cedi’s accurate free throw, Efes was leading 45-38 at 25.30 following four points by Lasme. Ahead 49-44 with Krstic’s four points with 1.30 left to play in the quarter, Anadolu Efes was leading 51-47 after Heurtel’s layup while heading into the last 10 minutes.

As we got our first points by Heurtel in the final quarter, Efes was ahead 55-51 through the 34th minute. With Saric’s three pointer in the 36th minute, Efes increased the lead to seven, making it 58-51. Scoring continuously with Saric, Efes was leading 62-56 with 1.30 left to play in the game.
