Anadolu Efes finished the preseason with a victory...

Preparing for the new season, Anadolu Efes defeated the Russian side Lokomotiv Kuban 75-74 at the last match of the preseason. Anadolu Efes was trailing 40-38 at the halftime of the match, played at Abdi İpekçi Arena.

Along with Emircan Koşut and Oğulcan Baykan; Doğuş Balbay and Nenad Krstic who are out due to injuries did not play in the match for Efes.

Starting the match with Granger, Diebler, Birkan, Brown and Tyus, Anadolu Efes got the first field goal of the match by Granger. As Efes was ahead 11-1 at 3.30 after two consecutive three-pointers by Birkan, the opponent called a timeout. Leading 13-4 with Brown through the fifth minute following the timeout, Efes allowed 14 points while only scoring three free throws with Tyus and Birkan in the next four minutes, when the away team was leading 18-16. Anadolu Efes got three more points in the final minute with Cedi, and was trailing 22-19 at the end of the first 10 minutes of the game. As Cedi scored our first field goal in the second half, he couldn’t get up after the one-on-one challenge during the layup, and was carried out of the court. Following the timeout, Granger brought the deficit down to six points: 47-53. With three accurate free throws by Saric and Furkan, Anadolu Efes was trailing 58-50 at the end of the third quarter. Starting the final quarter with Diebler’s layup, Anadolu Efes got three more points with Granger from an and-one, and was trailing 55-60 at 31.20. Behind 60-62 with Saric and Dunston’s points in the 34th minute, Efes got two accurate free throws by Diebler and a three pointer by Granger, reclaiming the lead after a long time: 65-64. Getting one more field goal by Granger followed by another field goal from under the rim by Tyus, Efes was leading 69-67 with 1.50 left to play. Leading 75-74 in the last 10 seconds with Saric and Heurtel’s points, Anadolu Efes managed to prevent any scoring and left the court victorious 75-74.
