Dusan Ivkovic: “We have to learn to play until the very end of the match...”

Defeated by Karşıyaka 86-85 at the second match of Turkish Basketball League play-off finals, Anadolu Efes coach Dusan Ivkovic stated his thoughts at the post-game press conference:

“It was a very challenging, high-paced match. My lads were apparently a little bit nervous. We need experience in the finals. In the first half, after an exchange of fouls by Krstic and Cemal, the tension went up, causing us to lose control for 4 or 5 minutes. Today, turnovers created a lot of problems for us. My lads were nervous. If somebody must be held accountable, I will assume full responsibility here. We probably have five more matches ahead. Two years ago, San Antonio had lost the title against Miami for being unable to grab one single rebound. We have to learn to play until the very end of the match, and keep working. Right now, we have to prepare as good as we can for the games in Izmir...”

Efes’s Birkan Batuk also stated his thoughts at the press conference: “We unfortunately lost, and we are upset about it. I would like to congratulate Karşıyaka. We will now play two matches in Izmir. Izmir is always hard to play as a visiting team. We want to snatch the win in at least one of these matches, and reclaim the advantage...”
