We were guests of Israel's Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv team in the 16th-week Turkish Airlines Euroleague match and were defeated 72-80. We were ahead 45-44 in the first half of the match played at Menora Mivtachim Arena.
Micic, Beaubois, Elijah, M'Baye, and Zizic were starting five of our team, and our first basket came in behind the three-point line with Beaubois. We scored with Zizic and Elijah in the first section and we were leading 10-8 in the third minute. We couldn't score in the next three minutes and the score was 10-19 in the sixth minute. At this minute, Larkin and Clyburn were also included in the game, while Clyburn's one accurate free throw made the score 11-19 at 6:30. After M'Baye and Clyburn's three-pointers, Micic also got an under-the-rim shot and we were behind 19-26 in the first 10 minutes of the game. We started the second period with Larkin's first basket in the Euroleague this season: 21-28. In this section, we scored back-to-back points with Micic and Clyburn and brought the score to 32-34 in the 15th minute, and the home team's timeout came. We balanced the score in the 16th minute with Clyburn and Micic's points on the return from the time-out: 36-36. After Elijah's hit after M'Baye's basket, we took the lead again at 17:30: 40-39. We didn't let go of the lead in the remaining time and after Clyburn and Beaubois' points, we finished the first half of the game ahead 45-44.
We started the second half with Beaubois's three-pointer at the beginning of the game: 48-46. We were ahead 54-53 in the 25th minute with Micic's three-pointer from the foul line, then his second and third shots, respectively. With M'Baye's three-pointer, we made the score 57-53 in the 26th minute. After Beaubois' six points, Larkin hit the foul line twice, and we increased the lead to double digits in the 29th minute: 65-55. We couldn't find a score in the remaining minute and we were leading 65-57 in the last 10 minutes of the game. Our first points in the final period came from Elijah on the foul line in the 33rd minute: 67-61. We had a hard time finding a score in this section and we were behind 67-77 in the last 1:30 minute of the match. Even though we scored points with Clyburn in the remaining time, we could not close the gap and we were defeated 72-80.
