
Our team started the game with Larkin, Weiler-Babb, Cordinier, Ercan, and Papagiannis in the starting five, and our first points came from Ercan. After a 4-4 tie in the second minute, Ercan had to leave the game due to a shoulder injury sustained in a fight under the rim. With Papagiannis and Larkin also contributing on offense, we took a 15-12 lead by the fifth minute. After free throws from Loyd, Smits, and Cordinier and a powerful dunk by Jones, we finished the first 10 minutes trailing 22-21. We opened the second quarter with a basket by Dozier to make it 23-27. Loyd’s points brought the score to 28-32 in the 14th minute, but Papagiannis then suffered an injury under the opponent’s basket and was taken off the court on a wheelchair. After three-pointers from Larkin and Weiler-Babb, followed by baskets from Cordinier and Beaubois, we closed the first half trailing 43-42.
We took the lead on our first possession of the second half with a basket by Larkin, making it 44-43. Smits scored five straight points, and the 24th minute passed with the score at 49-51. Struggling offensively in the next six minutes, we managed to add only a three-pointer from Swider and entered the final quarter trailing 69-52. In the last period, we scored three points each from Loyd, Dozier and Larkin in the first two and a half minutes to make it 61-73 at 32:30. Points from Weiler-Babb and Loyd brought the score to 71-85 in the 37th minute. Although Dozier added more points in the closing minutes, we could not close the gap and lost the game 95-81.
