
Our team started the game with the lineup of Lee, Loyd, Weiler-Babb, Ercan and Dessert, and our first basket came from Dessert. At 4:30, Loyd’s five points brought the score to 7-7 and with additional contributions from Ercan and Weiler-Babb, we took the lead for the first time in the sixth minute at 12-9. Dozier also scored his first points during this part and after Lee’s layup, we ended the opening 10 minutes trailing 23-20. We opened the second quarter with baskets from Şehmus and Smits, regaining the lead in the 12th minute at 25-23. Following Jones’ three-point play, Smits added eight points and the score was tied again at 36-36 with 3:30 remaining in the half. In the closing minutes, we scored through Cordinier and Jones to go into halftime leading 42-40.
Our first points of the second half came from the Dessert-Ercan duo and we led 46-40 in the 21st minute. With baskets from Loyd and Dessert, we maintained a 50-45 advantage at the 23rd minute. Beaubois, who entered the game during this part, scored nine points for the remainder of the period and we went into the final 10 minutes ahead 59-58. We opened the final quarter with a spectacular dunk by Jones and the score came to 61-65. Cordinier’s five points brought the score to 70-76 in the 38th minute, yet despite baskets from Ercan and Loyd in the remaining time, we were unable to regain the lead and lost the game 89-75.
